Re: HT20 Major Issues!!!HELP

You loaned your gear out? http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/kopfschuettel.gif Did it come back with the fuse blown? Regardless, my guess is the guy had everything cranked and just cut the power off and never put it into standby to let the energy in the tubes dissipate before shutting it off. The power ...

Re: HT-5 Unique push pull power?

I think it has more to do with balancing feedback with negative feedback within the circuit. In Class A amps all the tubes are on all of the time. In A/B's the tubes "blink", for want of a better word, switching on and off and switching between tubes, one on while the other is off. On is a push. Off...

Re: BlackStar Series One 1046L6 - Footswitch not working

Reach around the back of the unit and lift up on the cable as you depress the button and see if that changes anything. If not, try side-to-side. That's just a diagnostic. of course and won't solve the problem. -Rod-

Re: Bad EL34 ? (fixed..not the tubes!)

Question is, does the HT-20 have a balance pot for the power tubes the way the HT-40 does? Have you measured the EL-34's plate voltage and do they match? If the balance pot is there, you may be able to solve your hot tube problem IF you verify that the voltages are different. You can't raise or lowe...

Re: New Blackstar product?

Schematics would be good. It's interesting that Jet City monitors and encourages modding and DIY projects while B/S won't even publically acknowledge their bias specs. The fact that they allow the photos and threads to persist here is at odds with their position on the matter. There's actually LESS ...

Re: HT-5 background noise getting worse when warmed up - 16dB of noise.

K, two more things. Is your reverb cranked up? That's a ton of noise right there. How about the effects loop? I gather you're not using it but you should have a button on the back panel that toggles between -10 and +4db to balance the loop. Push it. Did the noise level change? If you lower your mast...

Re: HT-5 background noise getting worse when warmed up - 16dB of noise.

60db's measured from how far? I think a conversation is like 70, so your hum is way too loud. Can you hear the hum when you're playing? Is there a florescent light in that garage conversion? Is the hum steady or does it pulsate in any way? Whooshing sounds? Any pops, crackles or bams? (Bams are not ...

Re: How much noise should the effects loop on HT-5 Add?

I don't know a thing about your MFX unit...does it have an S/R section where you can adjust the input/output of the send and return? If so, that's where you need to be, but look for a grounding issue too. If you've done the tubes on that amp previously, crack the case back open and make sure those j...
