Volume and speaker issues

I got my HT-50 - using it with a 2x12 loaded with G12Hs, it's much much louder than the 40 with the stock speaker. It isn't the extra 10 watts making the difference - that's almost nothing - so I'd look at using an extension cab or changing the speaker. The G12H matches the amp well - better than my...

I'm (the one without glasses) using the Vox. Richard (the taller one) is using the Artisan

Either a 1x12 Alnico Vox/Celestion Goldback or a 2x12 with G12Hs

Blackstar Artisan 15 and Vox AC15 Handwired - 6/8 Blues piece

I have just sold the AC15 I'm using here to buy a HT-50 Head. The Vox was great but at 15 watts was too much at home a lot of the time and not enough to gig with. My friend is using his Blackstar Artisan 15.

Re: HT40 Not Cutting it.

Ok - found the 70/80 specs - 98db sensitivity. So changing that for one of Celestions 100db models or using one in an extension cab would make a difference.

Re: HT40 Not Cutting it.

I borrowed a (brand new) HT-40 for two gigs with the loudest of the bands I play with and was struggling for volume by the end of the night. It was OK with my other bands. Interestingly enough, the drummer is the same in all three, but it's the singer's really loud monitoring in this one that drives...

New member and BLACKSTAR user (when it arrives)

Hi everyone. I've just purchased a Blackstar HT-50 head after borrowing the HT-40 Combo for a couple of gigs. Have yet to take delivery as they are not expected till mid February. I'm a 54 year old professional musician and guitar teacher and I play in four bands regularly - two of which are cover b...

Re: Blackstar HT-20 Biasing question?

Sorry, it's impossible. el84s and 6l6s have nothing in common (even the valve base)
