Resonance ...
Technically it give a boost around a cutoff point that is typically variable. It's a bit like taking a plane into a steep climb just before putting it into a steep nose dive. This is what happens to your sound. The position of the resonance determines the effected frequencies.

Re: About the Venue Series...
Hi Guitarlord28, Here's the scoop ... first of all I caveat all my comments with "it's all a matter of taste" ... now that's out of the way ... lol The Blackstar amps to me will give you an awesome clean tone ... not quite that of a Fender but crisp and defined. The crunch is pure "old school" 80's ...

Re: HT-100 Stage head thread....
Hi, Just a thought and it's not perfect but it's the way I usually start with a new amp. Set all the knobs to the 12 o'clock position (except the Master Volume of course. I have found that most manufacturers tend to use this position as their 'default' sound. From there you can adjust your tones to ...

Re: HT Delay, HT Mod, HT Reverb ...
Hi GT, Re the power supply thing ... yeah a real catch22 ... you want batteries you don't get real valve operation ... you want real valve operation ... you get a power supply. The good news is, at least the power supply has the transformer in the middle and it's not a wall wart ... hate those thing...

Re: About the Venue Series...
Be aware there is also a Soloist 60 coming next month. It's a 2 channel unit with a solo boost and a 1 x 12". Could give you the power you need but the weight you don't. It will also drive a full 4 x 12" stack if you need it to.

Hi Guitarlord28, Cool. No the 40 and 60 don't come in a head ... yet! ... lol That's going to be my next poll and of course protest out the front of the Blackstar office! ... lol They have a 20w head and a 100w head all which are great ... but I'd like to get that transformer saturation of driving t...

Re: About the Venue Series...
Hi Guitarlord28, Yes Yes and Yes ... but I'm biased. To answer your questions: The Venue series has filled the gap that's left by the Hotrod etc whereby you love the Fender sound but need more tones. I've found that the Venue series fills all of the roles you mentioned and a few more. Versatility is...

Re: HT Delay, HT Mod, HT Reverb ...
Hi GT, No they are not true bypass. None of Blackstar's gear is. The compromise with true bypass is clicks and pops. The devices that are commonly used to switch the audio are FET's which are for all intensive purposes 'transparent' to the audio path. Granted there can be delay's introduced and like...
