Re: HT60 Soloist - Metal problems

Did you play the amp in the shop using your own guitar, or at least one with similar pickups? My two guitars sound very different through my HT-20, and they're both normal humbuckers - I'd imagine active EMGs would be different again. The 60 has various voicing switches, but I suppose you've already...

Re: Cabinet for HT-40 Head Only

Not directly answering your question I know, but... Do you particularly need/want the extra features of the HT-40 over the HT-20? The HT-20 head is narrow enough to sit on a 112 cab and I reckon loud enough (I use mine, through a 2x12 admittedly, with a drummer). If you can do without the voicing sw...

Re: HT Studio 20 Head Question

When using the emulated output on the HT-20 ... the volume however is governed by the master volume of the amp. That's odd - I've used the emulated out on my HT20 head a few times for recording and I'm convinced it's the channel (not master) volume that affects the level of the line out. I usually ...

Re: HT Studio 20 Head Question

The emulated out will drive headphones, but only out one side. The speaker stays on while doing this. Oh, OK - in that case you just need to make up a mono jack to stereo socket converter, with the tip of the jack wired to both left and right contacts of the socket. The way people were talking abou...

Re: Clean boost into HT20 clean channel?

A quick follow-up to this thread... I found a Boss FBM-1 Fender Bassman modelling pedal going at a decent price and bought it. It does the '50s sounds I was after superbly, certainly covers sounds that the HT20 can't do on its own, very pleased with it. But a bonus is it also does a very nearly clea...

Re: HT Studio 20 Head Question

I'm pretty sure the line out on the HT20 won't drive headphones, although I've not actually tried it myself. There's a thread on here a bit further down the page where people were discussing preamps and stuff to drive headphones from the HT20. Here it is: http://www.blackstaramps.com/forum/viewtopic...

Re: HT Studio 20 Head Question

You can use the line out at the same time as speakers. I'm not sure if the line out will drive headphones - you may need to run the line out into a headphone preamp. The HT20 doesn't have a specific headphone socket.

Re: Clean boost into HT20 clean channel?

Thanks for the reply, I'll have a look at some of those. So are you using the pedal(s) to produce the mild drive sound (so the amp is just totally clean amplifying the pedal's sound) or are you driving the clean preamp with a boost? I'm curious to know if the clean channel preamp in the HT can be ma...

Clean boost into HT20 clean channel?

I'm trying to address what I consider the weakest area of my HT20, the "just breaking up" sound. I really like the clean and drive sounds of the amp and in every other way it does exactly what I need (even sounds good at reasonable volume at home), but it's really hard to get that bluesy/slightly-br...
