Having had a bit of email ping pong with Blackstar and the retailer, it would seem as I`m out of my 90 day warranty that I can`t return the amp for free for a simple retube and bias check. Fair enough paying for that, but the man problem is, is that for something that generally takes 30 mins or so, ...

I do think Blackstars 'return it to us for new tubes' policy is very naive. Apparently theres no plans for authorising any 3rd party amp techs either.

I`ve seen some conflicting views on this issue, but having spoke to Blackstar, it`s not fixed bias.

I`m trying to get a v30 and a G12T-75 off eBay at the moment to try in my HT60.

Wouldn`t mind knowing how the v30`s sound in the cab.

I have the master up pretty high too (gigs\rehersals). I can dang near get some nice lowish gain JCM crunch from OD1. Really nice. I jump on an OD set to high volume\low gain for more modern crunch on the same channel. OD2 only gets used on a couple of songs, so I probably havn`t experimented enough...

I`m tempted to stick a v30 and G12T75 in my HT60. It`s not something thats easy to experiment with though!

I wholly agree. I wanted a head, but needed the headroom that the 60 watter gives, so I had to get the combo (didn`t want the 100 watt head).

It`s damn heavy though. I might look to get the chassis recabbed into a head format.
