I play mostly older rock/metal stuff - Iron Maiden, Metallica, Van Halen, Rush.
I liked the amp from the start, but changing the pre amp tubes & speakers really made it sound great.

Markystang - I'm not familiar with the cannabis rex, but I swapped the 2 speakers in my stage 60 with An Eminence Red Coat Governor & a Wizard. They sound incredible in this amp.
This is the first time I tried Eminence speakers & I'm very happy with them.

Splatter - Did you get a Stage 60 or a soloist?
Soloist has 2 preamp tubes, stage60 has 3

I've read in a lot of posts how people were swapping out there preamp tubes & getting good results. I figured I would give it a try, so I ordered some tubes & put them in today. I used one Groove tubes 12AU7 & 2 Tung-Sol 12AX7's. The clean channel sounds pretty much the same. OD1 Sounds much better....

I had the same thing happen with my stage 60.
I had the amp about a month. It happened maybe three or four times & it hasn't happened since.
I now have it about six months & everything is working good.

The amp sounds nice too.
I just started trying to record with my stage 60 this week. Still not getting the sound I'm looking for. I may have to try a different mic.
