Re: Series one 45
Seems like tubes. Had same problem few months ago, posted here too. Thought it was preamp section making that horrible noise but turned out that power tubes were the problem.

S1 45 emulated output funky jazz rock
Bit of funky jazz rock soloing to a backing track. This is S1 45 emulated output plugged straight into line 6 toneport GX. The delay comes from HK Replex. Bit of eq and chorus from line 6. Very happy with the result :D , what do you guys think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tELYG8eCk_U&feature=plcp

Re: S1 45 serious issue
New preamp tubes fitted, problem still there. So I tried some random el34's I had at home and 'voila' - amp sounds like new. I only wonder how come that the pair of power JJs gone so quickly? Anyway taking the amp and new tubes to a tech. At least now I've got a better sounding amp with new preamp s...

Re: S1 45 serious issue
Thanks guys! I was actually hoping that it's just the preamp tubes, the easiest and relatively cheap fix to the problem. But a cold solder joint as suggested by IM4Tone seems like more possible in this situation - gentle tapping on top of amp stops the noise for a short while, so it looks like somet...

S1 45 serious issue
Aup guys! Writing here hoping u can help me again. My S1 45 developed a serious issue during yesterday's rehearsal. After about an hour of usage it started cutting out, then I heard a long sequence of popping and rattling. All this ended with a very loud sound you might know from a spectrum or commo...

Re: What el34 tubes for series one 45 without need to bias?
Thanks for reply majikmojo. Always thought that bias is not needed if going for the exact replacement with same spec as originals. I reckon I must've confused power tubes with the preamp ones. Thanks again mate!
