JJel34 power tubes and jj12ax7 preamp is what i run and has the best tone and reliability of all tubes i've tried in this amp, do yourself a favour ....try them.

Hi Guys I have an HT 20 Combo. Zero volume, input jack not connected, and I get a slightly micro phonic hum. If I tilt the amp slightly backwards OR push down slightly on the top, it disappears. If I remove the back, it doesn't do it. I am thinking some sort of micro phonics. Any thoughts? yes i wo...

Good to know....wondering if I do replace the power tubes with JJ's if I can get away without re-biasing HI,YOU REALLY SHOULD BIAS THE POWER TUBES, WHEN SWAPPING THEM FROM ORIGINAL , ALL POWER TUBES HAVE DIFFERENT CURRENT. The preamp doesn't matter they can be changed at any time without any biasin...

JJ's in pre and power stage are very good in this amp, they have a much nicer tone than stock tubes, even when i changed the pre to JJecc83's it made a heap of difference Image

sounds like either power tube or preamp tube, take it to your local repairer, or if it's still under warranty take it back to where you bought it!

hi,try spraying the pins on your tubes with some electrical spray and plug them in and out a few times,they may not be making good contact,it has worked for me a few times on marshall and fender amp's i had years ago.

If you are looking for something to make the clean channel dirtier, take a look at the Digitech Hardwire CM-2 overdrive. why would you want to make the clean channel dirty ,when all you need to do is go to your gain channel and put a pedal in the loop,ibanez tube screamer is good and the digi cm-2 ...
