Re: TVP Problem - Valve models randomly switch.

I was playing my ID:260TVP at a rehearsal yesterday and it began to randomly change the voice control from Clean Bright to OD1. So from a lovely Vox clean with delays and reverb, to an insane ultra high gain lead sound. It kept doing this for about 30 minutes regardless of how many times I powered i...

Re: Id 30 sound type selector switches by itself.

Yep, me to. I have an ID:260TVP, which I love to bits, but it's really annoying when you're playing at a gig, and the voice switch decides to change by itself!

Re: ID: series strong damping effect

I, for one, am very pleased with v1.8.0. You can turn off the noise gate altogether in both the crunch and super crunch voices. They now respond to playing dynamics exactly as they should.
Well done Blackstar! Thank you!

Re: ID: series strong damping effect

My sneaking suspicions were proved correct:
Blackstar Insider v1.8.0: "New ID:Series firmware with improved noise performance and the option to fully disable noise reduction"
Can't wait to get home, install it, and see what it's like!

Re: ID: series strong damping effect

I have a sneaking suspicion that Blackstar 'may' release a new firmware update that 'may' fix this strong damping effect problem. I was very fortunate to have spent a couple of hours on a Skype sessions with Blackstar's head dsp programmer... I was very impressed to say the least... Thank you again ...

Re: ID: series strong damping effect

It is my understanding that every ID series (apparently not in the Core series) amplifier sold would have this same problem. Why don't we all hit Blackstar support with constant emails demanding a resolution to this issue? It would be simple software fix...

Re: ID: series strong damping effect

Here is the latest reply from Blackstar support (Tom Craig) regarding this ongoing issue: <quote> Thank you for coming back to me on this. The ‘damping’ effect that you are experiencing with the Crunch and Super Crunch channels is due to the need for a noise suppression filter at lower signal levels...

Re: ID: series strong damping effect

Sorry to say but as of 1.6.2 the original problem listed in this thread has not been fixed. <quote> There wasn’t any change in 1.6.2 on preamp voicings, this was simply bug fixes from 1.6- as I explained in my previous email it is unfortunately not possible to provide a date for resolution, it has b...

Re: ID: series strong damping effect

I've had a reply from a Blackstar Product Specialist: <quote> Our digital R&D team are working to resolve the preamp noise dampening issue as swiftly as possible, as of yet it is not possible to provide a date for any firmware updates etc but rest assured it is being addressed and a solution will be...
