I must also be sad, its a great smell.

Don't worry, I am sure I could fry eggs on mine by the end of a night, they do run hot.

Re: HT 40 VS Stage 60

The Solist has - sort of - 3 channels depending on how you use it. Channel 1 = clean with 2 voices Channel 2 = the overdrive with 2 voices Then there is a Boost button in the footswitch that can either be set up ( a switch on the back)for an even dirtier channel ( like a 3rd channel) or it can just ...

Re: HT 40 VS Stagw 60

I can't comment too much on the overdrive sounds but my band is all 60s stuff so decent cleans are the normal requirement for me. I had an HT40, then added an extra speaker cab 112 because I thought it would help give me more headroom, then I swapped to the HT60 with the single speaker (Soloist) but...

Re: Doesn't have to be used for the heavy stuff

Couldn't reply before because the forum went down. Thats a great mix of songs there. Looks like the crowd were loving it. I have played (or murdered depending on who you talk to) quite a few of the older songs in my past and it brought back happy memories. I have the extension cab to go with Soloist...

Re: Doesn't have to be used for the heavy stuff

Hi Gibsender The guitar is a Fret King Elise (Black Label) Trev Wilkinsons brand. I have a perfectly good Mexican Strat that I now never use. I just love playing this Fret King. Thanks for the nice comments. the guys in the band wanted authentic when I joined them. I tried to join a second band rece...

Re: HT60 Soloist - modded to improve stage visibility

I did a similar thing with my HT40 although I only stuck labels on the three volumes as from the volumes I could then work out in dim light what the other knobs were in relation to the volumes. It worked but it was a pain to get the glue off when I traded it in for the HT60 Soloist. This time I have...

Re: Doesn't have to be used for the heavy stuff

Update to my own thread:

I upgraded to the Soloist 60 and its given me more head room as just about everything I do is on the clean channel. Our videos are on www.60sretro.co.uk No guitar heroics I am afraid just rhythm playing.

Re: Doesn't have to be used for the heavy stuff

Thanks Sonofarich, When I decided to pick up a guitar again last year after 16 years of not playing at all, I went to a local music shop and asked for advice. They said that the Blackstar HT40 would we the right one for me and should cover me for most band options. I was hoping to eventually join a ...
