Re: HELP!

Hi Automo Tone, The speaker output jacks on the amp are labeled for matching the connected speaker(s) impedance to the amp. If the two internal speakers are two 16 ohm speakers in parallel (8 ohms total), then the single speaker cable would connect to one of the two jacks labeled "1 x 8 Ohm or 2 x 1...

Re: How did you end up with a Blackstar

The Swamp Thang is an awesome speaker! I have one in my HRDlx, and one in a 1x12 cab. I have used my HT-5RH with it and the speaker sounds fantastic either clean or distorted. It is loud at 102 db, cleans are great, and it does distortion sounds surprisingly very well also. :D

Re: How did you end up with a Blackstar

I go to GC often, to check new gear and occasionally try some. One day when I went in, one of the employees was playing a B* and the sound was just awesome. I checked a few sites and reviews and decided that I would get one. There was a slightly used HT Studio 20 for $100 off of the new price so I t...

Re: HT20 combo - not enough clean headroom. Suggestions?

I use a JJ 5751 for the clean channel, (which I call V2 since it is farthest from the input jack, closest to the rear of the amp), and I can get more clean volume. I run the clean channel nearly wide open, and when using hum-buckers, the sound breaks up, but smoothly like a Deluxe Reverb, with plent...

Re: Ht 20 head with new tubes. Sounds not right?

I agree thephantum. I typically shoot for around 60% of the tubes rated wattage dissipation, which suits my taste for most any tube amp. I generally like the sound as clean as possible on the clean channel, and going mid range on the bias works well for me. 50% or lower is definitely too cold and ca...

Re: Time to change tubes and I'm freaking out a little

Hi brenmacgarr, It might be a preamp tube issue, considering that one channel is fine, indicating that the output tubes are good. Many amps use different sections of preamp tubes for different channels. I don't have the schematics for this amp, so I would suggest substituting a known good tube in ea...

Re: Blackstar HT40 Hum Problems

The -4/+10 button is only for the loop, changing the gain of effects used in the loop. If you have nothing in the loop, or the loop is off, the button will do nothing, that's normal.

Delete your duplicate thread. Click to open the thread, then use the "X" in the upper right of your post, next to the quote button. Once someone responds to a post, it can't be deleted by you, and then we have the confusion of duplicate threads.

Re: ID260 TVP & HT-5RH

That is why I underlined the 2 to 1 ratio, high or low. There is no possibility of blowing a transformer in a tube amp because of such a mismatch. That is one of the misunderstood things about an impedance mismatch, there is no additional load on the transformer or the tubes, there is actually less ...

Re: Switching between 2 amps & 1 pedal board?

Hi stenio, An A/B (or A/B/Y) switch will work for the pedals in front of the amp, just disconnect the last pedal in the chain from the amp input, and plug it into the input of the A/B switch. Then plug the A output of the switch into one amp and the B output of the switch into the second amp. I am n...
