These amps NEED(!) to be cranked and boy do they sound great when you can get the power amp valves working hard! I have an Artisan 30 (combo) and just tried plugging into Channel One low powered input and connecting a guitar lead from the high of Channel One to either the low or high of Channel Two and both configurations worked fine. It sounds like you may have a fault but I'm no amp expert.

I also hear great things about their customer service (which is reassuring!), however I haven't seen them respond on the forum. Do they monitor this forum? The switching valves dilemma for Blackstar is a tricky ...

I've just bought one of these and have used it at a band rehearsal. I agree Channel 2 doesn't have huge amounts of gain but still sounds great. I've used it with a PRS Singlecut plugged into the Hi input using the 10W setting - I got a good crunch for most classic rock applications. For lead sounds ...

I played an Artisan 30 combo today. Quite a beast....very loud, even on 10W setting. First question: on the version I played the Warm/Bright switch on Channel Two had the Warm setting on the right (Bright setting on left obviously). In the manual and the pictures it seems to be the other way round. ...
