Re: Footswitch mod ID:Core 10
Have you managed to get it working yet? I've ordered my 1/4" socket already. Does it need the official Blackstar footswitch or just a generic one?

Re: Footswitch mod ID:Core 10
Brilliant. Thanks for taking the time. And apologies to the wife! You were brave to go on under the hood and take the plunge. I'll definitely be giving it a go too. Thanks for sharing. Incidentally, what would tricking this amp into being an ID Core 20 do? The footswitch was the main missing point. ...

Re: Footswitch mod ID:Core 10
Nice work. So, if I am understanding this correctly, I just need to get one part and I can solder away. But what IS that part? A two pole input jack?

Re: background noise BLack star Id core 10
Thanks jrsoldja. I'll look into it a bit more deeply. Why should a speaker hiss? This might be my chance to get bigger ones inside it . I had an IdCore 40 before this one and it had just the same hiss but also sounded a touch less boxy because of the bigger cones.

Re: background noise BLack star Id core 10
I'm surprised that no one has commented on this solution wise. This problem is usually contributed to one or more of the following: 1. faulty speaker connection (only if the problem persists with or without anything connected to amp) 2. faulty ground wire or power supply 3. capacitor/ transistor ru...

Re: background noise BLack star Id core 10
Hi there @jrsoldja. I'm glad there's some life out there in Id Core land. Interesting that you've heard one that doesn't hiss. I haven't. When mine was delivered it came with a power supply with a UK three pin plug that had a plastic, i.e. not earthed, long pin. This was replaced within a week by Bl...

Re: Footswitch mod ID:Core 10
I think you're right. That's where the problem probably arises. It's into the Insider software or nothing, I guess. Seems I'm going to have to start using my guitar controls!

Re: Footswitch mod ID Core
Wow. I would love a foot switch on my ID Core 10. Tone controls on an id core! That would be great! I was disappointed when the ID Core 40 watt head came out they did not include the 20 or 10. If mods like this are relatively easy to do, I might convert my ID Core 10 to a head. I know, that ISF con...

Re: Footswitch mod ID Core
:P This is brilliant news. Thanks. How did you create the socket on the ID Core 10 and where did you connect to inside? Once the switch is built and plugged in are you saying that one switch switches on clean bright and the other switches on OD1? You then say that modulation can be switched on. How?...
