My HT-5R was sounding like crap and I bought it brand new and was less than 2 years old...I replaced both tubes because I did not know better.....it still sounded like crap.....So I took it to the authorized repairmen in my area of New Haven county USA. I figured it out myself..
Power tube goes in the center socket and it's right near the trim pots...

I removed both tubes at the same time and I forget which tube goes in what socket.
Which tube goes in the socket that is in the center of the chassis?
