Re: 104 6L6 mic'd recording...
You have to gun the power section a bit to get more sizzle as opposed to the fizz from the preamp and presence settings. Try taking a bit of presence off (where some of that fizz resides) then give it a bit more treble, to add some bite back in. The top end can be quite twitchy on this head, but it ...

Re: 104 6L6 mic'd recording...
Live is a very different beast to a controlled environment like a studio though to be honest. Like I said, have been using it live for the last couple of years and the thing is brutally good. But since isolating, it's just not cutting the mustard compared to other heads we've been a/b'ing it against...

Re: Series One Head with a ID Series Guitar Cab
Dude, you can use whatever cab you wish with the head. Just make sure the rating of the cab/speakers can handle the power you're gonna unleash on it. S1 has switchable ohm on the rear to help with this, but just don't expect it to sound as rich as S1 cab as it's got cheaper speakers voiced for a dig...

104 6L6 mic'd recording...
Any serious S1 6L6 pro users had trouble getting a usable recorded high gain tone with their head? :? We've been working in the studio with it for a couple of days now and try as we might, just can't seem to capture the sound I've been hearing in the live situation for the last couple of years. Bear...

Re: Help!!!, ht club 40+boss gt 10
Hey, had quite a bit of experience with Boss GT-10 and my Series One heads.... First off, plugging the unit directly into the front of the amp without using the on board pre-amps is a waste of time. (although I wouldn't bother as they're shite anyway). The only way to use the GT with your amp tone i...

Re: noisy effects loop after upgrade to insider 1.61
Oh that sucks.... Although I have managed to get a contact with someone over at Backstair and I'll keep you posted as to the outcome. If any... The Rockshop in Auckland over here in NZ, had the head for a fortnight and said there was nothing wrong. Which I had to smirk a little at  As it doesn...

Re: noisy effects loop after upgrade to insider 1.61
Hi there... I'm experiencing exactly the same problem as this. I've hooked up the GT-10 via the 4 cable method (all the leads and the fx work fine through the 5150 so no fault there) and I'm getting a mad amount of ground hum through both clean settings but not the crunch/OD channels. Which is highl...
