Re: Lesser-gain tube suggestions for my Stage 60?

I have no idea what that means. It's a JJ ECC82 I grabbed when I got the ECC83's.

Re: Lesser-gain tube suggestions for my Stage 60?

So the ECC82 I stuck in as the phase converter affects my tone that much? I think I read that when I was researching which tubes to switch to, but it was a couple of years ago, and I haven't fooled with tubes since. I couldn't remember which one affected the gain stage either. But if that's the case...

Re: Lesser-gain tube suggestions for my Stage 60?

With the Stage 60, when I got it I was playing in a cover band and needed a wider-ranging amp than what I had been using, so upon discovering the Stage 60 I got it because I was impressed with the range of tones I could get out of it, with the 3 channels, Fender-ish cleans, Marshall-like crunch, not...

Lesser-gain tube suggestions for my Stage 60?

A couple of years ago, I put a pair of JJ ECC83's and an ECC82 in my amp to get a bit more gain, and I've been using them ever since. However, now I'm doing a bit of recording, some direct, and of course, when recording, my amp sound is much more distorted recorded than it is "live". So now I'm thin...

Re: Off Topic: Agile AL3000 ($350) or Gibson LP Faded Studio ($575)

Yeah, what mcguinnr said. I paid just a bit more than the number you posted for my faded LP Studio, but it's still worth every penny. The tone is just smokin', and it's got sustain for days. I've never played an Agile, but before I bought the LP, I played it off and on to A/B it with the Epiphone ve...

Who's played both the HT-1 and HT-5? (trying to decide)

Okay, I want a small practice amp to sit in my living room to just plug right into and play (my HT Stage 60 resides upstairs with my pedalboard and multi-track plugged into it), and every time I think I've found something, I always wind up going "Well, Blackstar has the HT-whatever with more feature...

Re: Pedal setups

I'm using 2 variations of pedal set-up depending on whether I'm playing rockabilly or classic rock. The rock set-up is Vox Wah->Boss TU2->Keeley TS909DX then in the loop Carl Martin Red Repeat->Marshall Regenerator. For the rockabilly set-up I use a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III (sorry guys) but I coul...
