Playing a Soloist 60 1x12. I think the amps are pretty close from what I have heard. I challenge you to notice hardly any difference in a tube swap. The tubes do little for the tone of this amp. My guess is a ground loop between the amp and what it is plugged into. Without XLR emulated out,it limits your options of how to remedy.

Agreed on the V30 upgrade. HUGE improvement isn't it? :shock:. I'd put in sino tubes. Pre & Power. They're cheap and just fine. I've rolled Tung sol, EH, Vintage 1961 Mullard, JJ, RCA Blackplates,Solvtech, Sylvania to name a few. In an amp like Blackstar where tubes aren't the sole generator of clipping, the tubes make little difference but in your imagination....
