You can always plug in more speakers-you can't opt to leave one speaker from a 2x12 home to save your back. I like the 1x12 for a quick grab and fit anywhere sort of thing. I have a bunch of 2x12 cabs if I need a little more ooomph. Really havent needed it yet. I hope to never own another 2x12 beast...

Update: Picked up a GSP1101 w/C2 floorboard and ditched the POD. The GSP sounds amazing in 4 cable mode. I have presets 1-4 set up to use the GSP preamp and the 5th preset uses the BS preamp. I couldnt get the HD500 to work well with the HT60-solist. It just colors the tone even with the amp model bypassed. Not impressed at all with the HD500.
