Re: HT Club 40 new speaker.
I enjoy a tone similar to that of John Petrucci, and athough that tone is difficult to achieve without using lots very expensive gear, I have been Very satisfied using a Celestion V 30 in my Club 40. I also use a G Major effects processor in the effects loop for time based effects and the 3 band par...

HT40 bias
Does everyone bias their HT40 when changing power tubes? Or do you just plug and play. What results have you got going either way?

Emulated line out
I've got a simple "All in One type PC". It does not have a "line in jack". It does have a "mic in" jack.
I have Audacity loaded on the machine. What is the Best way to connect the HT 40s line out to the pc?

Re: Adding a 1x12 cab to HT40
Yes...I'm gonna do it. All the cabling will be made as short as possible and hidden neatly behind the cabs. It will be fine. Thanks for your reply!

Re: Adding a 1x12 cab to HT40
I just drew a simple diagram of a series circuit using two 8 ohm speakers and came up with a way to make it work although it requires that both speakers be used at all times. You cannot disconnect the external cab. This would create an open circuit.

Adding a 1x12 cab to HT40
So I have replaced the stock speaker in my HT40 with a Vintage 30 (8) ohm speaker. Connected to the 8 ohm speaker jack on the back of the amp. Sounds great!!! But I have a second Vintage 30 (8) ohm speaker that I would like to put in a Empty HTV112 Cab and create a mini stack. Seems like I would nee...

Re: HT40 Volume drop
Thanks Phantum for the information you provided me. After fiddling with tube swapping and G Major input / output levels I thought I had my problem solved but it continued to randomly reoccurr. Last night I discovered a faulty speaker cable (stock ). I replaced it with a known working cable and seems...

Re: V1 PREAMP TUBE
Ok Great! So that leads me to believe that each tube is independent from one another and that no cascading gain exists. (Changing V1 to a lower gain tube has no effect on the OD Channel and that V2 has no effect on the clean channel ). Is this correct?

Re: HT40 Volume drop
I swapped out the two stock Ruby preamp tubes for an old pair of Electro Harmonix tubes that I had laying around and although I dont care much for the change in tone that the EH tubes offer, they seem to have eliminated the volume fluctuations and scratchy anomalies the were present with the stock R...
