This is fascinating. Curious what fellow forum member thePhantom would say. He is quite wise to most tube amp issues. This sounds like a diode/chip issue to me; one in which a simple replacement of a component may be the needed fix.

The Pistolators Use Blackstar
We were Bad Habit and the Corruptions at one time, but now we are The Pistolators, and we play around Austin Texas. The Pistolators just put out a couple recordings on Soundcloud/Facebook, on the page. We use Blackstar.

iNate!! Glad to hear it went well. I hope it doesn't act up anymore. PCB's and those miniature soldering jobs can cause issues, but I'm fairly confident you will eventually find someone who can track down the issue. Even the old tube tech can probably do it with a meter and some patience. Rock on ma...

I just wanna' say, when I play my Les Paul Standard, and play Zep, I can get the tone from the Celebration Day cd show, performed in 2007. I mean it sounds almost or EXACTLY like the tone on that album. And I like it. So there.

The Phantum speaks the truth. I thought possibly a pre-amp or phase inverter as well, but the power stage most likely.

That is just a tube that needs replacing most likely. When the tube finally goes out, it may damage other tubes because of a voltage surge. You should get it looked at right away, should not be more than 150 bucks/American dollars for a replacement and bias if its a power tube set. If it is not a po...
