Re: HT 40 Club Combo Hendrix Jam

Great description of the ISF control. I'm thinking you use it all the way to the right (UK)? I find you get a real loose tube blues sound with the dial to the right.

Well done +1

Re: HT-40 w/ Way Huge Fat Sandwich?

Pushed the effect loop gain btton on the back of the amp and voila. Fat sandwich adds super crunch distortion to either channel without squashing the tone!

Re: HT Stage 60 studio track clean vox(ish)

I find that the clean channel volume needs to be about 1 o'clock to get the growl and breakup of the tube. Is that about what you find too? Whether or not that is the real "vox" sound is completely debatable. Specail Note: beware - playing the amp with volume of clean channel at 1 o'clock and master...

Re: HT-40 w/ Way Huge Fat Sandwich?

Note: you really need to have the distortion pedal in the effect loop. Putting them in the front of the pre amp signal chain is not good... Getting good results from both my Fat Sandwich and the Hardwire Heavy metal distortion on the clean channel. I get both the nice blues distortion sounds from OD...

Yep - the MXR is a keeper! Happy birthday to me! Will try my new Blackstar ht60 with my new mxr at a local Irish pub on Friday.

Cheers!

Re: HT Stage 60 in the studio

Awesome track! Some really good playing there and the tones are very representative of what the stage 60 can put out without much effort.

Well done + 1!

Re: HT-40 w/ Way Huge Fat Sandwich?

Funny you mentioned the MXR EQ pedal - I think I'm going to get this as well. The EQ's on the amp are semi musical but don't ouput as much gain as I'd like. The HT60 is the bomb - trade up dude - you won't be sorry.

Re: HT-40 w/ Way Huge Fat Sandwich?

Try using the fat sand on the clean channel. You get a modern/compressed/tight type of distortion sound. I'm using this tone for some newer cover songs we play - it's kind of a nice difference compared to the classic blues tone this amp does so well. Play some Stevie ray Vaughn and Kenny Wayne shepp...

Re: HT-40 w/ Way Huge Fat Sandwich?

Hey man - not sure if you got your pedal yet but I have a similar setup but with the ht60. I've found that the tube crunch tone get squashed with the fat sand. I've resorted to using it with the clean channel for a different crunch tone and use OD2 for my leads. Still messing with it though - there ...
