Re: HT20 Major Issues!!!HELP

If it turns out to be the power tubes and you have to replace them, there is no bias adjustment, just a fixed resistor. The idea is that "no bias adjustment is necessary" cuz the bias range is set wide enough from the factory to accomodate most properly spec'd power tubes. I've tried a half dozen di...

Re: Power Valves Change

If the amp has adjustable bias, you should rebias with every new power tube change. I have an HT20, which has no bias adjustment pot(s) inside, just a resistor that you are supposed to unsolder and change to a value that gets the bias in range. Apparently that range is large enough so that most powe...

Re: I'm bored......

Hah! Well, there is not much you can do with these amps other than play 'em. Few mods other than a tube change or speaker change. With the preamp circuit they have I doubt there will be much for hot-rodders to work with. Marshalls are like Harley-Davidsons....lots of modding/hot-rodding options. If ...

Re: HT20 Major Issues!!!HELP

Somethings wrong with that amp...is it new? Did the fuse and white noise problem happen before the tube change?

If it's new, send it back...otherwise is it under warranty?

What you are describing is not normal!

Re: Celestion G12H anniversary or G12H Heritage

I have both now, and I like the Anniversay better, especially for the $$. The bass is insane on the heritage (55hz bass cone) if you crank it up. I like the upper mids better with the Anniversary. That's not to say the bass isn't damn good on the non-heritage. To me it's very similar to a 25w Greenb...

Re: Name That String........

I got hooked on heavy strings back in my SRV days.....13-56 GHS for my Strat, and 12-54 Earnie Balls for my Malcolm Gretsch. Love the big tone.

9's feel like spaghetti to me also now!

Re: Is Blackstar concerned about the reliability of their Stock tubes?

I've been trying to get a little educated on tubes over the years, and probably now know just enough to get into trouble! One of the differences between old vintage tubes and new generation tubes is that the old ones were built to a spec and adhered to that spec very closely (when new). The gain and...

Re: My First Tube Amp!!! HELP!!!!! :-)

As an electrician in a previous life....see if you can find a friend who can do some basic house wiring. A simple, but ugly way, would be to hardwire an extension cord to your breaker panel...connecting the ground to the grounding screw in the panel. It (the breaker box/panel) might need some additi...
