No, the emulated speaker output is just that, an output. All they are saying is that the same kind of guitar cord/lead that you would ordinarily use between the guitar and the amp input, can also be used to carry the emulated-out signal TO a PA system or mixing board.

Not to be Captain Obvious, but if the voice switch for the clean channel is in the out position, you are going to get some crunch/breakup at higher volumes.
