Can you put an EL86 tubes in V4 and V5 slots?
Would this couse any problems?

V4 = EL 84 Power amp
V5 = EL 84 Power amp

Has anyone maybe done an MASTER VOLUME mod to this amp?
I have it at home but even at 5W its too loud for home usage

Theres is no gain chanel on the Artisan amp.
Ist an A class amp with 2chanells with slightly different voicings.

Ok thanx for the explenation. Im no tech guy but can you explain a bit what youve said. V1 is the 12AX7 tube. If I put he 12AXY tube in that position it would give the amp more headroom....basicly it would not start to break up so early on the volume dial.... Am I correct? Wich chanel will this effe...

One question, can I put in V1 slot an 12AY7 tube without any amp moding?

This is strange. There is a clear sound from the speaker when I tap on the two preamp tubes while the amp is on (two tubes on the far right - 12AX7 and EF86) What is strange that this only happens when I turn on chanel 2. Its not audiable on chanel 1. These are bad tubes that need t be replaced, rig...
