Interesting. Mine is dead silent when I have a humbucker (or SC in middle, humbucking position) selected, but is a tad noisy when just using one SC pickup. However, IMO, the hum is no more noticeable on the Beam than on any of my other amps, so I'm not terribly concerned.

That's really the only limiting aspect of this amp to me. It's allowed me to sell my bass amp, and get away with one amp whereas I would previously need two when I wanted to play both electrics and acoustics. I'm having that issue in spades - I have acoustics with active and passive pickups, and the ones without an active preamp are quite low in volume comparatively.
