Re: New speakers
Well there are some clues in the original post. It's in the Series 1 section. I put in 2 speakers. That narrows it down to.....
Series 1 combo.

New speakers
I went to record some stuff and the engineer didn't exactly diss my tone but he wasn't giving me awards and bouquets either so I had a bit of a think, reset all the EQ and still wasn't happy. I had a pair of vintage 30s doing nothing and they were the same resistance as the stockers so I threw them ...

Re: Dear Blackstar.....
OK but I tried 2 amps when I originally tried the Series 1. I bought both of them (one after the other) before I eventually ended up with the B*. Now I have decent tubes in I know I have the right amp. If it had had decent tubes in I would've bought it straight off. You can say I bought it eventuall...

Re: Tube locations... (I know)
I'd like to know what the ECC82 does. I'm happy with JJs for the 83s but I'm still using the stock 82 and wondered if I'd improve things by replacing it. From memory the 82 is the second from the left looking from the back. That's in the combo.

Re: Really technical discussion on Series One 200
So what you're saying is that 2 x 200 watt amps aren't loud enough so you're amplifying them further. Nope - I'm still confused. What sort of gigs do you play?

Re: Really technical discussion on Series One 200
Sold my hotplate. No matter what anyone says I think they sound boxy. Why are you using 2 200 watt amps and attenuating them?
Just curious.
I've never had a power tube explode. That must be fun.

Re: Series One 100 Re-Tube
I've found the guys at BS UK to be helpful. OK they start off telling you that changes should be made at the dealer but if you explain politely that you have some experience of working on amps and you're aware of th dangers/warranty issues they give you what you need. Certain of us will always want ...
