I have just bought an HT5 Mk2, which has an effects loop. I also have a Headrush MX5 multi effects unit that I want to run thru the amp. I’ve concluded that they are valve amps, but the overdrive sound is added with SS circuits. I’m not sure if the valve adds to the clean harmonics , or if that is also from SS circuitry.
Is the valve just a decoration ?

Are the HT1 and HT5 really valve amps, or are they SS amps with a couple of valves pretending to be a valve amp?

The schematic diagrams of the amps have a lot of integrated circuits!!
