Hi Try the boss set gently with the clean channel out front or in the loop with the clean cranked a bit, the od channel is already ballistic so shouldnt need more, if it does youve got a duff tube :!: Also my ht sounded horrible out of the box, but after playing it for 26 hours it was sounding super...

if you`ve not got it sorted yet the small valve(nearest the back panel) is the one for the clean channel.
Hope that is the fault
