Re: ID30/60

Thanks for reply.
Need to go and try them. Prob the 60 but I might look at the head as I have a small 5 watt tube amp (Kit from Ampmaker) which has a G30 Celestion in it which I could wire up and use it as a cab.

ID30/60

Hi All Recently sold my HT5 as I just couldn't get the sounds I wanted. Clean was OK but OD channel was either too clean or raspy/brittle overdrive. It went back to Blackstar twice but didn't improve either time apart from when they fitted a new resistor. Maybe I got a dud or it just wasn't for me. ...

Re: HT-5r speaker swop or valve swop

Hi I have an HT5R Head with an HTV112 cab. Swapped the preamp for a 12AY7 (Electro Harmonix) it certainly cuts the gain on the OD channel but the clean channel suffers a bit in the warmth. The preamp is a little sod to get out, someone on here suggested using a rubber glove, which works but be caref...

Re: Turning your HT-5 into a classic rock monster

Hi There Good post. What make of tube did you use? I put a 12AY7 in mine and it def lowered the gain, but put stock one back in as I`m considering trading it in for a HT20 studio mainly because it has a master volume. Stock OD on mine is a bit harsh, playing through an HTV112 with a Celestion Vintag...

Re: ID versus HT5

Thanks for reply Crunchifyable. I bought a Zoom G3 multi pedal last year and once the initial novelty wore off I was a tad disappointed with it to be honest. Maybe its me not using it properly, it cant do the four cable method so I am told also I am not 100% sure which parts of my HT5 I am using whe...

Thanks again for replies. Any of you using the ID 60, or are you all on the 260?

Re: ID versus HT5

Thanks all for replies. Will the 260 sound fuller than the 60, I suppose it will with two speakers? Just seen the new ID Core range with stereo feature but it doesn't seem to have the versatility of ID60/260 Need to go and give it a try I suppose. Would be sorry to lose my HT5 but ease of use is a b...
