Re: Is this normal? HT5R

Have you read the instruction manual? If you turn the power on, the amp is in standby - no sound from the speakers. If you flick the standby switch so that it is in the same position as the (on) power switch, the amp is now fully on (preamp AND power amp) and you will get sound out of the speaker.

Re: Blackstar HT-1 Jensen Speaker Replacement

Nice hack! Whatever works - it’s nice to have the option of using an external cabinet - a low wattage amp can sound huge through a big cabinet.

Re: HT50 MKII - USB output does not work

Try installing Audacity - it’s free - it should detect the input automatically and record it.
Also, make sure you have the channel volume turned up - it is the pre-power amp channel volume that controls the signal strength out of the USB as I understand.

Re: HT-20RH MKII XLR DI

I have the HT-20RH Mk2 and can confirm that the emulated XLR output is pre-power amp, and a connected speaker cabinet is NOT required for a signal via XLR. You can just run the head to a mixer via XLR.

Re: HT-20RH MKII XLR DI

I can confirm that the head can be used without a speaker cabinet, and the XLR output still works.

Re: Footswitch for HT-100

I have two of the FS-7s, as I have an HT-100 head and HT-60 2x12. Didn't realize they were so hard to come by. The serial-style connector make them difficult to replace with something aftermarket. The manual doesn't describe the signals through the different pins, so it would be up to someone to rev...

Re: HT-20R Mkii speaker bypass with headphone

Just got my HT-20RH a couple of days ago. Based on my observations: The Master Volume control controls the volume of the speaker outputs only. The channel volumes control the volume to the headphones, line and emulated outputs. You can therefore turn the master volume down to zero and still have sig...

Re: No standby switch on Blackstar HT20.

I read somewhere that the type of tubes in the HT-20 do not need a 'cooling off' period, and thus do not need a standby switch. Actually, to clarify: When power is turned on, the amp defaults to standby when there is no cable plugged into the guitar input jack, or no speaker cable plugged into a spe...

Thanks for the responses...

I guess I should have played with it a bit more before posting. The 'modern' (voice button in) voicing does give a lot more clean headroom, as the manual indicates. The 'boutique' voicing gives mild crunch quite quickly.

This is one flexible amp.

My first post and (doubtless unnecessary) question...

Hello everyone, I have been drooling over Blackstar gear for a year or so, and as I am starting a backline rental business I decided to buy a Stage 100 Head and HT-60 combo to rent out. I recently received them (the UPS delivery of the HT-60 was terrible, the box was torn up and the foam padding bro...
