Re: Footswitch mod ID Core

Hi there. Did you ever get anywhere with this? It seems like a valid mod and one that I'd like to do too, now that my amp's out of warranty. In fact I've got a number of mods I'd like to do to mine, from porting it to opening the back or sides, to adding tone controls, to eliminating that bloody his...

Re: background noise BLack star Id core 10

And now, apparently, the new BEAM models hiss too. Can't we find an electronics guru out there who can explain what causes this hiss and we can start modding. In fact, are there any mods on this forum for the ID Cores? I have a two year old ID Core10 and would love to start chopping it about now. Ar...

Re: background noise BLack star Id core 10

Yep. I came to the same conclusion. There seems no rational reason for this hiss; they are supposed to be HiFi quality speakers. Blackstar did answer my query about this, simply stating that it was normal!

Re: Noise gate off with ID Core Insider

Blackstar tell me this is a known issue which only came to light this week. A fix is on its way.

Re: ID Core open back (port)

Quick update. Ollie from Blackstar saw this post and was concerned enough to pm me and sort out lots of questions. Thanks Ollie. The general advice from Blackstar is, as I suspected, that removing the back could seriously reduce the bass response considering the sizes of the full spectrum stereo spe...

Re: ID:Core Power Lead Recall

Great links and valuable info. I'll check my old and replacement ones again. All I knew was that there had been 'issues'.

Replacement cable.

Anyone know why we've been sent free replacement kettle leads for our ID Core amps? I was having no problems with my first one other than that flippin' buzzy hum but that's still there. All I know is that Blackstar were having 'issues' but there is no mention of a product recall on the website.

Re: Blackstar Insider - working for you?

I don't like the fact that the online community shared patches have been mostly kindly shared by Core amp owners who have carefully found their sound by a balance of effects and the TVP control. Since ID Core amps don't have this facility the patches will not sound right on ID Core amps. Would it be...

ID Core open back (port)

Recently wondered whether I could improve the boxy sound of these ID Core amps and fancied seeing if cutting out the back was possible. Having messaged Blackstar on this issue and a number of others and never having received a single reply I decided that my only option was to take a look inside the ...
