Re: S-1 50w or 100w
I was in a similar situation. I originally found the 50 watt, but the Master wasn't working on it, so I had to return it. I ended up finding a better deal on a 100 watt head. Both sounded very similar, with the 50 breaking up faster on the clean channel as you would expect. These amps sound quite go...

Re: 104 6L6 mic'd recording...
I believe Sammy has been using the Series One on some of his new recordings as well, but this is a different type of tone than you are after. I haven't yet tried it in the studio. I did do a couple of quick/crude clips using Garage Band, and found the tone to be more fizzy than I was expecting. Stil...

Re: 104 6L6 mic'd recording...
I have heard them mic'd up in a live setting and they sounded very good. Sammy Hagar uses them and his live album also sounds great, so although that isn't much help to you, it must be possible.
Do you like any of the mic'd clips on youtube.

Re: Series One intermittant sound cut out
This is so frustrating. It seems that this is the most common issue regarding the Series One amps. I have the 100 watt model and also have this issue at times. It has happened to me on both the clean and overdrive channels, but not both together. This has to be an important bit of diagnostic informa...

Come on Blackstar. You have some users who really like your product, however you are getting a very bad reputation when it come to support of your product. There are some people on this site that need some help with their amps..........help them out.

Re: Let's talk Blackstar Series One
I agree that shared EQ on channels sounds fine in a lot of situations, especially if your content with a single "Core" tone. On the other hand,,, if your gigging diverse tones in a cover band situation and switching guitars etc, having separate controls and taking advantage of the midi capability (...

Re: Let's talk Blackstar Series One
I would love to own a Series One. Bit out of my price range right now, but maybe someday. Anyway, how different is the sound when you turn the power down via the DPR. I don't notice a difference. Supposedly it is supposed to behave differently to replicate an actual lower wattage amp, but I don't n...

Re: Let's talk Blackstar Series One
In all the clips I hear, the shared EQ seems well voiced for the two channels. For me however, I do find that I would like to run the clean channel a tad brighter, and the crunch/super crunch a little darker. My guess is that in a mix with a band, it is voiced just right the way it is.

Re: Let's talk Blackstar Series One
Same here. Does your model have a volume jump when you go from the crunch to the super crunch? That is the only thing about the amp I would like to have different. I would like the two to be closer to the same volume. So instead I either set it up on the super crunch with the gain low or use the cru...
