I have a HT100 and an ID60. I use the HT for gigging and ID60 as a practice amp. While I do think the ID is a great sounding amp, at loud volumes, I don't think it can maintain the same quality tone that you get with the HT. Just my 2 cents.

I've never pulled any of my tubes, but I would imagine if you pull one out, the tube type should be stamped on the tube itself.

Absent any further input from a 260 owner, if I were in your shoes, I would get the 260. It's not significantly more expensive, and I have to believe having two speakers would be superior to one, especially if you are planning on gigging with it.
