Re: Choosing the right ID Series amp.

I have a HT100 and an ID60. I use the HT for gigging and ID60 as a practice amp. While I do think the ID is a great sounding amp, at loud volumes, I don't think it can maintain the same quality tone that you get with the HT. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Returning to Blackstar

I've tried a lot of different amps, and I just love the tone of my HT 100 and ID 60. That's what I'm hoping for because since selling my first HT-5, I've had a 15-watt SS Marshall (bad), a used POD XT bean (too much tweaking, less time playing) and a POD HD500 (didn't learn my lesson from the first...

Re: Returning to Blackstar

I love the ID series. A lot of people have opinions about what constitutes a good amp, and you have tube snobs who proclaim SS amps are bad, but great tone is great tone, and everyone gets to decide what is good and bad. If you like the amp, get it. I've tried a lot of different amps, and I just lov...

Re: HT 100 tube replacement order

I've never pulled any of my tubes, but I would imagine if you pull one out, the tube type should be stamped on the tube itself.

Re: Buying an amp for small gigs. ID:60 or ID:260?

Absent any further input from a 260 owner, if I were in your shoes, I would get the 260. It's not significantly more expensive, and I have to believe having two speakers would be superior to one, especially if you are planning on gigging with it. I frankly have only gigged with a 4X12 cabinet, unles...

Re: Buying an amp for small gigs. ID:60 or ID:260?

I had the Marshall MA 100 head, but I didn't care much for the tone, so I replaced it with the Blackstar HT 100 head, which I like a lot. I also have an ID 60 that I use as a practice amp, but it is loud enough to gig with in smaller venues. I've never tried the ID 260, so can't answer you there. I ...

Re: new HT-20 combo

Hello, I just bought a new HT-20 combo amp from my local music shop. After 45min of playing the sound cut out on the overdrive channel ( no pedals) one of the power tubes was hotplateing . I brought in my amp, and the sales guy said I have to pay the $60 bench fee and $40 for a set of power tubes. ...

New HT 100 owner

My first post here. After going through a number of different amps, including Marshall MA and DSL, and not being particularly happy with the tone, I was about to purchase a JVM. Then, I stumbled on the Blackstar HT 100. Not everyone likes the same tone in an amp, but I really like this amp. The clea...
