Welcome to the Blackstar Club, congrats on the new amp--btw, run a noise gate pedal like the ISP Nise Gate or Boss Noise Suppresor to get rid of the noise, that should work

hi, there from Sunny San Diego, congrats, welcome to the Blackstar Club--and yeah, I highly reccomend the HT20, it's a great amp like my recently-acquired HT40

personally, both my HT40 and HT20 kicks-butt OD wise as well as clean wise, too--if you get the HT40, you may wanna consider doing a tube swap, unless you wanna opt for the HT60 or HT20--alot of us have experiemented with that with much success [I've done it to my HT20, going Mullard EL34s/power tub...

easily ,dude!!! it'll rip through 2 4x12s without breaking a sweat--just read your manual on properly connecting the cabs [it's usually going to be 8 ohms each]

you can't go wrong with either, however if you're still new at playing and don't anticipate giggng anytime soon, then go with the HT20, either the combo or the head/HT112 cabinet--I have the HT20 and HT40 plus the HTV112, I'm in musical, tonal nirvana--and btw: the HT40's vociing on the OD channel c...

congrats on the nice score, welcome to the Blackstar Club--as a foremr owner of many amps, I'm happy to say my duo of the HT20 and HT40 is totally the best amps i have ever owned [coming from a Marshall, Mesa, Laney, etc--fill in the blanks, I probalby owned one, LOL!!]
