In my opinion, Blackstars tend to have a darker tone, with a touch more bottom end, whereas Marshalls have a brighter tone with more top end.

Here is a video of the Blackstar vs Marshall tone. In this video I'm using a Gibson SG Standard (Limited) with stock pickups. Guitar is plugged direct into the amp.

I'm not certain if I had posted this first portion of this video before. This is Part 1 to the previous video. In this video I'm using a Gibston Les Paul Traditional (with stock pickups) plugged direct into each amp.
