I just installed an Emi Wizard in my HT40. I posted 2 clips. The first is with the stock 70/80 and the second is with the Wiz.

A few things to keep in mind.
1. The playing sucks
2. This was recorded with an Iphone 4 sitting about 3 inches from the speaker just off center.
3. Volume was pretty low but there is still a little mic clipping
4. The Wiz has had no break in at all. I played it for maybe 5 mins before making this clip.
5. Guitar is an Ibanez RG350 with stock INF4 in the bridge.

Be gentle.

Hi jds22, please don't be hard on yourself, it is far better to play and enjoy than to never have played at all.
And nobody ever confused me with Eddie Van Halen, LOL ;)

As far as the speaker, the Eminence is clearly warmer with better mids in clean mode, and significantly less fizzy with more chord definition in OD mode.

Great choice.

I replaced the 70/80's in my HT60 with a Celestion V30 and an early 1970's Celestion G12M-25 Greenback shortly after purchasing it, and have never looked back. best of fortune to you.

Thanks. Unfortunately I haven't had much time with it since I made the recording but should be able to push the speaker a bit this week

BTW, I see you're in IL. I'm just outside of Springfield.

First and foremost: Your playing does NOT in any way SUCK. We are often our own worst critics. Every time I lay something down I think "whoa that could have been alot better...that sounds like shit!" but to everyone else it's like "whoa that sounds wicked man!" How many people in this world can even play a guitar at all, let alone play the average Van Halen song. You sound fine man. :)

Secondly, I do like the tone you're getting from the speaker swap! Good move there, sounds fantastic.

Hey Bellasunshine...why is it that you write nearly the identical information in every one of your responses to the various posts you reply too??

I think Bellasunshine is hoping we'll all click on her signature and book a holiday!

Thinking I probably won't, though.

Yeah...amount of spam on this site is getting ridiculous. There are starting to be as many spam users/posts as viable ones lately. Too bad...it gives the official BS site a bad reputation and drives away participation (and I like this site). Administrators/Moderators need to step up...I know it requires a concerted effort, but it's worth it. I'm getting tired of flagging posts for them...I spend more time doing that than reading/contributing to the forum/topics.
