What can you tell me about these, looking for a bedroom rocker for classic rock and Blues, would also like to know if they take pedals well?

The TVP amps, in my opinion, are quite versatile and take "most" pedals well. They perform much better than the Core counterparts, primarily because of the valve emulation.

Have you been able to try one in a local store?

If classic rock, blues, and bedroom are your primary concerns, you may also wish to consider the HT1. It's one 1W, but it is a tube amp, sounds great, and costs less money. Just something else to consider.
