Can't get headphones to work on my HT20R mkii combo amp

There is an input on the back to insert a headphone jack. I needed to get an adaptor, so I got a 1/4" male to 1/8" female and it fit the input on the amp. However the sound will only come out of the amp speaker, not the headphones. Does anyone know exactly what adapter I need to make this work?
