Hi Folks

Only new to the forum but not to blackstar products.I own a 200 series for nearly 18months now and in the past month or so i have been having issues with popping noises and volume increases/decreases on certain channels.I rang blackstar direct but the person i spoke to wasnt very helpful to be honest.I would send it back to where i bought it but im in Ireland and the shop i bought if from is in England.
It might be a valve issue but im not sure so can anyone give me some advice on how to fix this problem.

Thanks
Colin

Hi there

I just replaced all the power tubes and the amp is working perfect again. All the main power valves (kt88,s) needed to be replaced.I learnt a valuable lesson as i used to turn the amp on with to let the valves warm up before i connected it to a speaker cabnet. This caused all the valves to go alot quicker than when they usually go.
Did you buy the amp new?You might just need to replave the valves.

yeah, i got it new, and after spending what i did on it, and not even having it for a day, i'll be damned if i have to pay to replace those tubes.

Well if its brand new then the tubes should be perfect. You should bring it back to the dealer where you bought it as it sounds like it could be something else.Your amp is under warranty anyway so it wont cost you a penny.
