I'm confused . I just bought an ht 60 and It only has 2 pre amp tubes . Did blackstar change the design of the amp recently and the old ones had 3 pres ?

Splatter - Did you get a Stage 60 or a soloist?
Soloist has 2 preamp tubes, stage60 has 3

Hi. I put tung sol in V1, mullard in V2 and keep tad ecc82 and the sound is much better. What i don't like was celesion vintage 30. I think the sound was worse. Many mid and highs. horrible. I bought WGS invader 50 and i'm waiting arrive.
I don't like JJ in preamp. They are very without bass. I try tung sol in V2 and i thought better mullard in this position.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I still have not replaced my tubes in my Stage 60. I like my sound but hate my noise. I will eventually replace the pre-amps I am leaning toward Tung-Sols but I do have a blackstar dealer music shop nearby. When I take it I will pass on their comments. I have not had a chance, since we've had a lot of shows this season.

If you just lay in the sun tung V1, you will already notice the difference. Last Saturday I did a show with Celestion Vintage 30 and the more I tried to increase the bass, do not see them. Midrange and treble irritating. Do not wait to remove them. It has a video on youtube with Celestion 100 k I really liked the sound.

THe V3s can be very harsh until they are broken in ......have u tried the 70/80s that come stock with this Amp?

Here's a few youtube vids that will help decide which speakers will work for you .The diferences can be subtle to very drastic and the so called celestion clones need to have their DNA checked .
