Hey all

Just trying to figure out whats wrong with my HT40.
I have had it about 5 months now, loving everything about it.

Just the other day I noticed what I can only say was like a "blown speaker" type sound when strumming some bar cords on the clean channel. You could hear it as the cord was fading away.

Then the volume dropped! And I no longer have that killer tone.

Needless to say I am totaly bummed right now.

I have the amp in for wattanty repair, but I don't think they will get to it for at least another week, so in the meantime, does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Thanks!

Hi

Have a look at the tubes...Are they seated correctly? Inspect the tubes to see if there is any discolouration , do u have any spare tubes u could swap in ?

I'm beginning to think that for the HT series, the tubes should be replaced before starting to play it. I love my HT20 after tube/speaker change, but between the failure rate and tone improvement, I'm having a hard time understanding why BS wouldn't upgrade the stock tubes (especially since the cost is minimal and the improvement is huge).

Let's start a petition...

if they are like most mfg's they probably quote out their tube suppliers and i guess we all know who had the
lowest bid
