I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of using the Blackstar HTV 212 extension cab with the Stage 60 and if so if it's worth the extra cost.

Thanks.

Now loving this amp. :D

absolutely worth it ... for 300 bucks it makes a great addition if you have the need to push more air
i have a used a couple of different 2x12 cabs on mine and it really enhances the bottom end...in fact so much so
that today i went to 3 different shops to get one because i want a matching cab but no one had one in stock
a testament to how cheezy the music stores here in Miami are

i'm am ordering one from sweetwater music online - should be here in about a week or so
so much for supporting the local economy :(

one word of caution if you try a different cabinet - make sure the impedance matches the speaker input
you use on the back panel...

Thanks Majikmojo,

Let us know how you get on once that cab arrives from 'merry England'. I'm considering one.

Hi John this is my rig Stage 60 and 2-12..........gives me nice big sound
Image :D :D

Also just got this and it sounds massive through the rig

I also use the 2-12 on its own with my Orange Dual Terror so it gives me the choice of two rigs. Definately worth getting the 2-12 though.
The Les Paul is fitted with Bareknuckle Mules and also RS guitarworks vintage wiring kit
Explorer is stock with 496R/500T so I can get a more aggressive/modern tone

cheers

Wow, that Blackstar rig with the Les Paul out front looks great and sounds even better I bet.

How does the Explorer (also great looking) compare to the LP?

Thanks for the pictures. :D

Hi John the explorer has higher output pickups so has a more aggressive sound but when the volume is rolled back tends to lose some top end.The LP on the other hand has lower output pickups which are based on the old PAF sound but coupled with the wiring kit I also put in when volume is rolled back there is no loss of top end and keeps its clarity right across the range, the wiring kit has changed the sound of the guitar but has improved it a lot.
I just noticed your in UK ..........so am I up in the North East.
cheers
