V1 PREAMP TUBE

Which tube is the V1 in the HT 40

When you open up the back of the amp, the preamp valve closest to you is V1/the clean channel (i.e - the valve towards the back of the chassis). The one furthest away from you is V2/the OD channel (the one closest to the front of the chassis).

Ok Great! So that leads me to believe that each tube is independent from one another and that no cascading gain exists. (Changing V1 to a lower gain tube has no effect on the OD Channel and that V2 has no effect on the clean channel ). Is this correct?
