So I have replaced the stock speaker in my HT40 with a Vintage 30 (8) ohm speaker. Connected to the 8 ohm speaker jack on the back of the amp. Sounds great!!! But I have a second Vintage 30 (8) ohm speaker that I would like to put in a Empty HTV112 Cab and create a mini stack. Seems like I would need to wire the speaker set in series (16) ohms and obviously use the 16 ohm jack on the back of the amp but whats the best way to wire this up. Thanks

I just drew a simple diagram of a series circuit using two 8 ohm speakers and came up with a way to make it work although it requires that both speakers be used at all times. You cannot disconnect the external cab. This would create an open circuit.

You could make a cable/harness, wired in serial, that would have two 1/4" plugs and one 1/4" jack. The two plugs would go to the amp and the cab, while the jack would allow you to plug the combo speaker in.

It might not be pretty, but it would work and allow you to run the stack. To switch back to combo, you just pull the cable out and plug the combo speaker back into the amp. To use the cab by itself, just use a straight up speaker cable.

Yes...I'm gonna do it. All the cabling will be made as short as possible and hidden neatly behind the cabs. It will be fine. Thanks for your reply!
