7 String/Low Tuning - Venue HT 60

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience playing the Venue HT 60 with a 7 string or drop tune down to A or B? Will this amp handle the tuning and still sound good?

When you start messing with low alternate tunings, it is really more about what the speaker can do. The 70/80 speaker in the HT-60 is decent, but not great. In other words, it will sound OK but, with the right speaker the amp will really shine.

It might be cheaper to get an HT-50 head and find a cab with the right speaker(s) in it....as opposed to buying an HT-60 combo and replacing the speakers (the Soloist 60 is a 1x12", but the Stage 60 is a 2x12"). Just a thought.
