The HT-1 head really intrigues me, however my current cab is a 16ohm Vox 1x12 with a greenback. Anyone know if this head will work with a 16ohm cab or does it have to be 8ohms?

Thanks!

Hi,
The HT-1 is fine to use with 4,8 or 16 ohm cabs. The early ones say 8 ohms on the back but this was later changed to 4-16.
Hope this helps.

Thanks that helps! Any thoughts on how it might sound with an open back cab loaded with a greenback?

I've used one with a Celestion vintage 30 and it sounds excellent. Give it a go.

almost similar question here,

can I connect my Blackstar HT-1R combo to a Vox 110NT cab with the ffg specs:

V110NT Speaker Cabinet
Speaker: 10 inch custom Celestion VX 10
Maximum Input: 30 W RMS 16 Ohms

m HT-1R is the older model with the 8 ohm printed at the back of the amp :D

Thanks!

Yes, any 4, 8 or 16 ohm cab will work fine.

cool! so even without the "4-16ohm" marking at the back of my HT-1R, it's sure safe to use, right...and with a speaker cable...of course! lol!

I've run mine into the speaker on a Tiny Terror 12" combo, which is a Celestion G12H...which, supposedly, is a mix between a Greenback and a Vintage 30. And, being a combo, it's open back.

It sounds...nice.
