HT-1RH full stack.

Does anyone actually have the full stack? Is it worth it - what value do 4 more speakers do to the sound?

I'm interested in getting another 408 Cab, get this - mainly so I dont have to bend down to fiddle the knobs on the head. Might buy a couple of 50p shelf brackets instead, but then I wouldnt have a full stack dominating my living room right?

It's my understanding that I couldnt mix and match a 408 with a 112 or even a 110 as there 16 Ohm each right and the 408 is 8ohm?

Anyways I would be interested to hear what people think as I have yet to hear of somone with the full ht1-rh shabang.

I've used my HT-1HR with a 408 on top and a various different 8ohm cabinets on the bottom. As long as the 2nd cabinet is 8ohm it'll be fine.

Then why does the output jack of the HT-408 say "8 Ohm Minimum" on the back, looking at the product photos? This leads be to believe you can use a 16 ohm cab with it. Can anyone from Blackstar verify?

I was hoping to eventually do the same, mix the HT-408 with a HT-112 later on. I'm about to purchase a Blackstar HT-1RH head and either cab so researching posts and opinions on this forum and others first. These cab choice topics are really throwing me through a loop!

Hi, The HT1/HT1-R & HT1-RH are happy with a 4, 8 or 16 ohm speaker. The early models said '1x8 ohm' but this was later changed to '4-16 ohm'.

I have a question, but does it mean that also the older models are fine with both 4 and 16 ohm speakers too? Or can they only be connected to 8ohm speakers?

I build low wattage tube amps using reverb transformers with 8 ohm output. Since the amp is outputting such a low wattage, it really does not effect the tubes like it does with larger wattage amps. You may notice the volume gets lower with a 16 ohm speaker than with an 8 ohm. I believe these output transformers are 8 ohm and they say it is ok to deviate up or down from that impedance.

I have noticed that there are replacement output transformers that are beefier than the stock unit. I have one that I bought off ebay from musical power supplies that is for push pull dual plates with center power connection. Output has 4,8 and 16 ohm taps. I plans to swap out the stock one soon and see if that makes it sound better. Sounds really good with my tube and celestion eight 15 speaker upgrade.

I have an HT-1RH and 408 matching cab, after watching some really cool reviews on the Fender Excelsior with its 15 inch speaker I dragged an old dusty bass cab I had in the garage out, checked to see if it was 8 ohms and plugged it in. I don't claim to have the best ear for tone, but I know what i like and I LIKE IT .
I am going to make a cab of my own the same size Maybe a bit higher with a decent 15 inch speaker and have the stack I allways wanted.

I've played mine through an 8 ohm 12" Celestion and, it sounds huge and awesome for just a watt! Through a 15" speaker it has to rock!

I tried mine through my 2 x 12 (4 ohm cab) with Peavey Black Widows. No problems driving that cab.
