Had my HT-1R for a couple of years with no problems. I decided to try a JJ 5751 valve in V1 to calm the gain a bit. One of the speaker wires came of the extension jack socket as I removed the cabinet so I soldered it back. Put back together, no sound from the speaker except when I turned off when there was a brief sound. Tried it with headphones in the emulated/headphone socket and it works fine so not sure what the problem is. Do you think I may have damaged the output transformer with my soldering. Or is the speaker dead.
Any help appreciated.
Si
HT-1R. No sound except with headphones
OK got it sorted.
Stripped it down yesterday and squirted Electronic Contact cleaner into the pots, sockets etc. Put it back together and it sings again.
That saved me a few quid
PS; also squirted the contact cleaner into the USB sockets on my laptop which have been dodgy for ages and they now work perfectly. Good stuff
