You guys that have upgraded/changed speakers in the HT-5, have you had any problems with the tubes being close to the speaker magnet?????

I want another speaker (really want another cab, but I'm trying to save some $$$), but don't wanna do anything that's gonna damage my amp......

Actually the speaker magnet is pretty much in contact with the tube, or really really close...

No issues yet !

Well, I guess that'll just about make my decision for me, gonna buy an extension cab........

That was my original plan anyway though, along with buying a couple more low watt tube heads......

I really wish I'd gotten the HT-5 stack/head now, it's all good........

I'm still pretty happy with the little 5w monster though, can't wait to try it out with another cab/speaker.......

Thanks for the response!!!

Why spend too much money on a speaker cab when you already have the combo :P

The tube is not ON the magnet. And it sounds absolutely awesome with the new speaker !!

Well, I'm trying to save a little $$$, but really, I'm gonna need another cab (or two...one with Greenback, one with V30...) anyway, as I plan on buying a couple more low watt tube heads before too long. I don't gig anymore, the gear will be used for recording. I plan on using the tube amp(s) in the computer/recording/mixing room, & using the cab in another room, so I can monitor what's coming out of the daw/monitors.....

I found a Marshall 1x12 cab for $150 locally, so I'm gonna grab that in the next few days, so that'll cover the Greenback cab.....
