just wondering what other ht-5 metal users are saying
i mostly play my fender jaguar special through the amp
but when i hit the distortion not very loud i get a wicked feedback through the amp
i have to dial down the volume on the guitar and it doesn't do the amp justice
i figure maybe i've got an amp that is defective

it just seems that the feedback should not be that bad at such a low volume

Does it happen with any guitar or just the Fender? If it's just that guitar and your feedback is a very high pitched squeal, you may have microphonic pickups. In that case, you should take the guitar to a shop to have the pickups looked at, or just change them.

Are you running any pedals in between? Plug the guitar directly into the amp to see if the feedback stops.

Have you tried a different guitar cable?

If you have your gain over 8 or 9, turn it down. Too much treble can contribute too. Lots of treble + Lots of gain = feedback.

thanks for the reply

actually what turned out to be the issue was a bad power cable
the ground even though it was there was somehow seperated and broken on the inside
after that it plays just fine
